American actor and producer Ralph George Macchio Jr was born 63 years ago in Huntington, New York, is married and has 2 children.
When he was just 3 years old, Ralph started taking tap dancing lessons and at age 16 an agent recognised his acting talent.
His first acting debut was in the TV series ‘Eight is Enough’, in which he acted for 2 seasons. Then, in 1983, he starred in the film ‘The Outsiders’. A year later, he won the leading role in the famous movie ‘The Karate Kid’ and the road to stardom began. In fact, Ralph appeared again in the 2 ‘Karate Kid’ sequels released in 1986 and 1989.
During the last 3 decades, Ralph starred in numerous films of different genres, particularly comedy and drama movies. These include ‘Crossroads’, ‘Distant Thunder’, ‘My Cousin Vinny’, ‘A Good Night to Die’, ‘Hitchcock’ and ‘A little Game’, amongst others.
Ralph also appeared in several TV shows and series and since 2018 has been the protagonist of ‘Cobra Kai’, which is a TV series featuring martial arts, and is a sequel of the ‘Karate Kid’ films. Next year, Macchio will be the protagonist in an upcoming martial arts movie named ‘Karate Kid: legends’, portraying the character of Daniel LaRusso. Veteran actor Jackie Chan will also be starring in this film.
Ralph has also performed in 2 theatrical productions and collaborated with some artists in their music videos. In 2022, he had his autobiography book published.
