Vanessa Chantal Paradis was born on 22nd December 1972 in Val-de-Marne, France, is married and has 2 children. She is a singer, actress, model and songwriter.
When she was a child, Vanessa attended dance lessons and model casting sessions for kids, as well as learnt piano basics. When she was 7 years old, Vanessa participated in a child singers’ talent show on TV.
In 1983, Vanessa released her first single and sang it in an Italian festival 2 years later. Although it was not successful, it did help her achieve international fame when her number one French hit ‘Joe le Taxi’ was released in 1987, when Vanessa was 14 years old. She was still attending high school at the time, but decided to leave to concentrate on her singing career.
Vanessa also made her first film debut in 1989 when she starred in the movie ‘Noche Blanche’ and in 1991 advertised a famous French fragrance. After moving to the US, she worked on and released her first album in the English language and afterwards embarked on an international tour.
To date, Vanessa released 15 albums and 28 singles and starred in over 25 movies and TV programmes. She has also received 12 awards regarding both the music and the film industries.
